Like just about every government entity in the State of California, the City of Elk Grove continues to face budgetary challenges given the continued depressed job market and anemic economic expansion.

Given this, the city will be hosting a series of budget town hall meetings starting tonight. Tonight's meting will be held at at city hall and Tuesday's at the Elk Grove Library on Elk Grove Boulevard. Both meetings start at 6:00 p.m.

“This forum provides the Elk Grove community a unique opportunity to weigh in on the direction of our City,” Mayor Steve Detrick said. “I encourage Elk Grove residents to join the City’s budget team for an informative discussion about City resources, and let your voice be heard.”

Citizens are encouraged to discuss what services they would like see expanded, reduced or initiated.
