Another Announces Intention Online

With over two and a half years before the November 2014, the first candidates for one of the two open seats on the Elk Grove City Council has filed papers to enter the race.

According to information posted on the Elk Grove City Clerk's webpage, David Conner has filed to make a run at the District 4 seat. District 4 is currently occupied by Gary Davis.

Davis is running for Mayor next November and if he were to win, that seat would be vacated. To fill that potential vacancy the council could make an appointment to fill the seat until the next election or hold a special election.

Another Elk Grove resident, Todd Elving, posted a comment on the Internet story today saying he is running for the council but did not indicate which of the two open seats he will seek. Elving was active with the Occupy Elk Grove group but has subsequently resigned from the group.

Good luck you guys! The apathy in this town is unbelievable. The incumbents capitalize on this and run their political machines without a care in the world.

Let's be honest. The only reason why he is runing is Gary wants his guy to replace him when he becomes Mayor. Why run when the powers to be make all the decisions. They know who they are. They pull the strings and the council does what they say..
