The Elk Grove Police Department is asking for the community’s help in locating an at risk missing person, 15-year-old Shabnam Ahmadyar, who has been diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic and functions below her age level.

Shabnam Ahmadyar walked away from her residence (4800 block of Chamberlin Circle) this afternoon around 4:30 p.m. Shabnam is described as a Middle Eastern female, 5’5”, 125 lbs., with black hair in pony tails and brown eyes. She was wearing a gray hooded jacket and matching sweat pants. Shabnam did not have any identification on her when she left the residence, and she does not have her medication with her.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Shabnam Ahmadyar is asked to contact the Elk Grove Police Department Dispatch Center at (916) 691-5246.

I am interested of the reason behind this incident. I know that the reason could be because she has this condition called paranoid schizophrenic but how could the family possibly lost their daughter? Having known that their daughter has this certain condition then they should have tightened their security to keep their daughter secured and safe within their household.
