Have you ever wanted to ask a police officer a question, but didn’t know how to go about doing it?

Officers from the Elk Grove Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit will be available to answer questions from members of the community on Tuesday, May 8 from 7 to 9:00 a.m. at It’s a Grind at 9385 Elk Grove Blvd. and 9620 Bruceville Road as part of the “Coffee with a Cop” program.

The “Coffee with a Cop” program is a unique way to strengthen the partnership between the police department and the community it serves. Members of the community will be able to ask specific or general questions related to the neighborhoods they live in.br />
“It’s very important that our police officers develop strong relationships within the community,” Elk Grove Police Chief Robert Lehner said. “We believe that this type of open dialogue plays a critical role in establishing a true partnership between the community and the police department.”br />
For additional information, please contact Crime Prevention Specialist Denise Costello at (916) 478-8117 or Sergeant James Fuller of the Problem Oriented Policing at (916) 627-3727. Additional dates and locations will be posted on the Elk Grove Police Department’s web site (www.elkgrovepd.org) as they become available.br />
