The Elk Grove Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying the suspects responsible for burglarizing two cell phone stores last week.

On Friday August 24, 4:42 a.m., officers responded to the AT&T store at 9170 W. Stockton Blvd. regarding an alarm call. When officers arrived, they discovered that the business had been burglarized.

While officers were investigating this break in, another alarm call at T-Mobile (9308 Elk Grove Blvd.) came in at 5:11 a.m. Officers arrived at the T-Mobile store and discovered that that the business had also been burglarized. Officers were able to determine that over $2,000.00 worth of Dr. Dre Beats headphones were stolen from the AT&T store, and 10 cell phones were taken from the T-Mobile store.

Based on video surveillance, the first suspect appears to be an African-American male adult, six feet tall (6'0"), one hundred fifty pounds (150 lbs). The suspect was wearing a black hooded zippered sweat jacket, faded blue jeans with black/white shoes and was carrying a black backpack.

The second suspect was an African-American male, 18 to 22 years of age, approx. six feet tall (6'0"), one hundred fifty pounds (150 lbs). The suspect was wearing a black hooded zippered sleeveless vest, blue jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with information regarding these crimes is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at (916) 478-8060 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00. Tips can also be sent via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message.
