For a city its size, Elk Grove in very fortunate in that it has developed into a competitive media market. With the old line media organizations and the newer online outlets, there are a wealth of resources available to readers.

Elk Grove News is pleased to be part of this competitive market. Unlike other local competitors, we are a stand-alone operation free, or void as some might suggest, of major corporate funding.

While EGN has never operated as a revenue-generating operation as its primary mission, there are costs associated with delivering daily news to your computer and mobile devices. Everything from gas to our co-sponsorship of the recently announced Elk Grove Candidates' Night add to the out-of-pocket costs of delivering this news.

If you value the news and information you receive from this site, consider making a donation of any size to support continued coverage you will not find anywhere else. Donations can be made using the PayPal link directly below this.

We promise this direct appeal will only last through the Labor Day weekend and appreciate your understanding and consideration.

Thanks for all you do and I keep forgetting it's all a freebie for us....we do need reminders occasionally. I did find that the Citizen guiding you to Facebook for comments is a bit confusing and unfortunate. Plus, many of the older generation do not use FB.

Keep up the good work.
