What appears to be a gang graffiti fight on a wall has developed in the last few days in Elk Grove.

Graffiti first appeared on the decorative wall located on Elk Grove Florin Road and Kelsey Drive in central Elk Grove as early as Tuesday morning. The first tags were sprayed painted in red and said "RECS Krew F*ck."

As is typical in gang culture, a rival gang placed their own tags on the same wall sometime between Wednesday night and this morning.

While the new tags were in blue and white and not easily read, anyone vaguely would identify the red being associated with the Nortenos and their rival Surenos tied to the blue. We will have to leave the exact identification of these tags the Elk Grove Police gang unit.

Regardless of who the tags belong to, this is not a good sign for a neighborhood that lies in the core of Elk Grove.
