The Sacramento Bee published its endorsements today for three of the four open seats on the Elk Grove Unified School District board of trustees.
In the area 1 race, Susan Parvis was given the nod over rivals James Letoa and Tony Perez. Noting her experience of the district finance committee the Bee also lauded her passion for "making sure that kids at risk of dropping out can make up classes in time to graduate."
In the heated area 6 race between incumbent Jake Rambo and challenger Steve Ly, the Bee endorsed Rambo noting he "has shown in his six months of service a grasp of complex issues."
For the area 7 race, the endorsement went to incumbent Al Rowlett over challengeres Carmine Forcina and Theresa Beals. The Bee said "is a "gold standard" board member, with a big heart and a constant presence at school sites. He is a big advocate for foster kids, a voice for kids who get forgotten."
