An Elk Grove grocery store employee was threatened with a knife during a shoplifting incident early Sunday evening.

According to Elk Grove Police, the unknown suspect was observed by loss prevention personnel at the Raleys store on Elk Grove Blvd. leave the store without paying for the purchases. When the store employee approached the shoplifter, the suspect reportedly pulled out a knife and threatened the employee.

A second suspect then drove up and the two loaded the stolen merchandise into a gray Toyota hatchback. The car drove away and the suspected shoplifter fled the area on foot with some of the groceries still in the cart.

Responding officers were unable to locate either suspect. The shoplifter was described as an Asian male, 5'5" and wearing a gray hooded jacket.

It seems like Elk Grove is becoming a destination city for every would be thug, gansta and two-bit punk. Makes sense for them to migrate from South Sac, we have slightly more money here.
