A late night traffic stop may have helped prevent a burglary.

According to Elk Grove Police, officers stopped a vehicle being driven by 25-year old Marlene Ayers of Sacramento for a vehicle code violation near Highway 99 and Mack Road. The suspect initially provided false information about her identity.

After officers were able to determine her actual identity, they discovered Ayers was driving on a revoked license. A vehicle search led to the discovery of burglary tools.

Ayes was arrested and taken to the county jail where she was released earlier today.
