A car repossession led to a two-hour stand off early Friday morning in Elk Grove.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, a repossession of a vehicle was under way early Friday morning on the 9200 block of Mapleview Way when the owner of the vehicle, 51-year old Homer Black exited his house and shot one round in the air then pointed the gun at the repo man. The repo man fled the area and contacted police.

The suspect drove the vehicle that was being repossessed to another location then returned to the house. Officers surrounded the house and were able to contact Black by phone inside his residence.

After approximately two hours, Black surrendered and was detained. A search warrant was obtained for Black's residence and that led to the discovery of an unrelated stolen handgun.

The suspect was arrested then taken to the county jail where remains in custody on a $95,000 bail.
