Elk Grove Police Arrest Suspected Drunk Driver Who Fled Accident

An Elk Grove man was arrested late last night after he allegedly fled an accident.

According to Elk Grove Police, 20-year old Monish Prasad was driving a vehicle that was involved in an accident with another vehicle near Sheldon Road and Lewis Stein Road. The suspect allegedly fled the scene on foot to a nearby apartment complex.

Responding officers located and detained the suspect who also displayed objective signs of impairment. Prasad was positively identified by two witnesses as being the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision.

Prasad was arrested then taken to the county jail were he remains in custody on a $1,482 bail.
