An Elk Grove car dealer made a contribution of $9,333 yesterday to the Sacramento County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The dealer, Elk Grove Subaru, made the presentation yesterday morning at its store located in the Elk Grove Automall. The local dealer, in partnership with Subaru of America made the donation as part of the fifth annual Share the Love event held last year.

Share the Love is an annual initiative allowing customers who purchase or lease a new Subaru to decide which charities would receive a donation from the company. The list of charities included the ASPCA, Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels, the National Park Foundation, and Teach for America. As part of the program, individual Subaru retailers were allowed to add a sixth charity to the mix. Elk Grove Subaru, of the Lasher Auto Group, chose the Sacramento SPCA.

“We are proud to partner with the Sacramento SPCA because of their dedication to caring for more than 11,000 animals each year,” Vince Bloom, general manager of Elk Grove Subaru said. “The Lasher family has been a long-time supporter of the organization.”
