A probationer and a parolee who jumped from a car with a gun were arrested last night by Elk Grove Police.

According to Elk Grove Police, 20-year old Xavier Williams of Sacramento was driving a car near Bruceville and Sheldon roads that was stopped for a vehicle code violation. As Williams slowed, 18-year old Kendell Green, a passenger in the car,  reportedly jumped out of the front passenger door and was seen with a handgun in his hand.

Green dropped his gun upon command, but tripped when he attempted to run away and was detained. Williams fled on foot to a nearby relatives' residence and went inside their home. Officers established a perimeter around the residence and Williams eventually surrendered and was detained.

A records check revealed that the handgun in Green's possession had been reported stolen. A records check revealed that Green was on probation and that Williams was on parole.

Both suspects were arrested and taken to the county jail. Green is being held on a $35,000 bail and Williams is not eligible for bail.
