A 24-hour Elk Grove gas station was robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday morning.

According to Elk Grove Police, two unknown suspects entered the Shell Gas station located on the corner of East Stockton Boulevard and Bond Road shortly after 3 a.m. and confronted an employee. One suspect, who was armed with a handgun, jumped over the counter and demanded the employee open the cash register.

The other suspect, who was armed with a shotgun, also jumped over the counter and told the employee to place the cash from the register in a shopping bag. The employee complied with the demands and then was told to lie face down in the back room where the suspects blocked the door.

The suspects were described as black male adults, approximately 20-30's, 6 feet tall, slim builds, wearing black pants, black hooded sweatshirts, bright yellow or green gloves, black ski masks with eye and mouth openings. The employee was not injured during the robbery.
