At a primary election night celebration held at an Elk Grove pizza parlor, Congressman Dr, Ami Bera thanked an enthusiastic crowd of supporters and volunteers and reminded them that hard campaign work lay ahead of them.

Bera, a freshman Congressman, was greeted by an overflowing group of supporters earlier tonight who loudly chanted "Ami, Ami, Ami." A large number of the campaign volunteers in the room were in their 20s and enjoyed a brief moment in celebration before they continue their work for the November election.

Typical of the volunteers was 26-year old Sam Eldaly, who said this was the second campaign he has worked on for Bera. Eldaly said he enjoyed working on the campaign and supports Bera's stances on several issues including Social Security and affordable health care, but acknowledges the challenges posed to the freshman Congressman.

"It's going to be a tight race," he said.

Several political analysts consider Bera, who barely edged out incumbent Republican Dan Lungren in 2012, to be one of the most vulnerable congressional Democrats. To that end, the Republican National Congressional Committee has made the Bera-Ose race a high priority election.

In his speech to the audience, Bera acknowledged the efforts of the campaign volunteers, several of whom were calling right up to the closing of polls. After asking his volunteers to enjoy the evening's celebration and to take a day off, he implored them to continue with their work.

"Let's win this election in November," he added.
