A Sacramento man was arrested yesterday afternoon, after he and an accomplice attempted to steal liquor from the BevMo store on West Stockton Boulevard

According to Elk Grove Police, 24-year old Johnnie Jingles was observed shoplifting alcohol by a store employee. Jingles was assisted by an unknown suspect who attempted to create a distraction.

When confronted, the unknown suspect reached into his pocket and made reference to a concealed knife. The unknown suspect and Jingles then exited the store.

Responding officers located Jingles, who was trying to flee in a vehicle. The unknown suspect was not located.

Jingles was arrested and booked into the county jail. He is being held on an $80,000 bail for violating terms of probation, robbery, conspiracy and destruction of communication equipment.
