A homeless man was arrested early yesterday morning in Elk Grove on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
According to police reports, 30-year old Dustin Payne allegedly struck his 40-year old female victim on the forearm with a large stick. Elk Grove Police described the suspect and victim as neighbors in a homeless camp located on the 8600 block of Elk Grove Boulevard.
Payne was arrested and taken to the county jail where he is being held on a $575,000 bail.
