California Assembly Member Dr. Richard Pan will preside over a ceremony in Elk Grove tomorrow morning that will deliver $1.1 million in federal dollars to the Cosumnes Community Services District (CCSC).

The federal dollars came as a result of legislation sponsored in 2011 by Pan, AB 678, that gave local governments authority to apply for federal matching dollars on un-reimbursed ambulance transports for Medi-Cal enrollees.

Attending the ceremony with Pan will be Elk Grove Unified School District Trustee Tony Perez, Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis, Elk Grove Council Member Pat Hume, Elk Grove Planning Commissioner Nancy Chaires and CCSD directors Gil Albiani and Rod Brewer.

The ceremony starts at 10:30 and will be held at Cosumnes Community Services Fire Department Station #71, 8760 Elk Grove Blvd.

Pan made this happen for CSD. Why the other politicians? Oh, Photo-ops, that's right.

Dr. Pan should be proud of this accomplishment, and we are grateful for his efforts to secure this funding. But Dr. Pan's main interest was, is and always will be medical care, and he spent much of his tenure in the Assembly on healthcare issues.

Roger Dickinson is a well-rounded politician and a concensus builder. He has been extremely productive - introducing and shepherding several very important bills through the legislature during this session (signed by the Governor). It's quite impressive.

Mr. Dickinson is very involved in water issues throughout the state, particularly as they relate to the Delta and its farmers, and is best equipped to deal with them in an reasoned, effective manner. He's closely with state and federal officials for many years to find and finance a solution to our water woes.

He has the respect of his colleagues, has always acted in good faith, and has represented his constituents to the best of his ability. His constituents appreciate his compassion, his intellect, and his unfailing honesty.

Having served on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors for twelve years, it's doubtful that there's any significant issue facing our state that Mr. Dickinson is not aware of and working diligently to resolve.

He has both my confidence and my vote.
