In a ceremony presided by Assembly Member Dr. Richard Pan, the Cosumnes Community Services District was presented with a check marking $1.1 million dollars that the agency received in Federal Medi-Cal transportation reimbursements.

The event was held at the district's Fire Station 71 on Elk Grove Boulevard and was attended by Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis, Elk Grove Planning Commissioner Nancy Chaires, CCSD board members Gil Albaini, Rod Brewer, Rich Lozano and Michell Orrock.

The reimbursement to the district's fire operation came as a result of the legislation sponsored by Pan and signed into law in 2011 by Gov. Jerry Brown. That bill, AB 678, established a mechanism in which fire departments can submit unpaid ambulances transport expenses for Medi-Cal patients for Federal reimbursement.

The difference here being that CSD has money coming IN, and Destination Davis has millions of dollars going OUT. As an investor ("taxpayer"), I'd like to see a performance report on all my current destination investments.

Why would Davis and Chaires speak on this matter? Neither had or have anything at all to do with this program and it's likely they found out about it for the first time when the press conference was scheduled.
