Elk Grove Planning Commissioner and Elk Grove City Council District 4 candidate Nancy Chaires has announced the endorsement from the current council member she seeks to replace.

Announcing his endorsement of Chaires was Council Member Bob Trigg, who was appointed to the District 4 seat in 2013. Trigg joined the council after Gary Davis vacated the position upon his election as mayor.

"Nancy and I share a working-class background, and a love and appreciation for the value that education has in the well being of our families and therefore our communities," Trigg said. "I'm supporting Nancy for city council and I am sure she is the best choice for the job."

Prior to his tenure on the council, Trigg was a Superintendent of the Elk Grove Unified School District.

Also announcing their endorsement of Chaires was longtime Elk Grove resident and Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Cosumnes Community Services District, Gil Albiani.
"I am extremely impressed with Nancy's professionalism, depth of knowledge and integrity," Albiani said. "You can count on Nancy to follow through when she says something. Elk Grove must have Nancy Chaires on the City Council."
"The support of long time residents and experienced leaders like Council Member Trigg and Director Albiani motivates me to work every day to earn the support of Elk Grove voters for the opportunity to serve their best interests on the city council," Chaires said.
