A suspected hit-and-run driver who was found to have outstanding arrest warrants was apprehended early last evening by Elk Grove Police.

According to police reports, 35-year old Chantell Jackson of Sacramento was operating a vehicle that was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run accident near Elk Grove Boulevard and East Stockton Boulevard. Jackson allegedly fled the scene and headed west on Elk Grove Boulevard.

Responding officer located the vehicle on the 9600 block of Bruceville Road and initiated an enforcement stop. A records check revealed the suspect had an outstanding arrest warrant and a vehicle search led to the discovery of a controlled substance.

Jackson was arrested and taken to the county jail where she remains in custody on $50,000 bail.
