Although it is nothing like the record setting 2006 Elk Grove City Council election, late money is flowing into the coffers of the two best-funded candidates in District 4 race for the Elk Grove City Council.

According to documents filed with the Elk Grove City Clerk's office, candidate Steve Ly and Nancy Chaires have received large contributions totaling $3,600 and $8,500. The candidates received these large contributions, which require next-day reporting, in a five day period starting October 16.

Ly received $1,000 from Kong Pheng Xiong on October 15, $1,600 from Region Builders PAC on October 16 and $1,000 on October 20 from Munir Khan.

Chaires received four contributions on October 16 that included $2,500 from the Committee For Home Ownership of the North State Building Industry Association, $2,000 from James Kouretas, $2,000 from Stephen Squaglia, $1,000 from DAL Deficiency Investments and $1,000 from Willdan Group on October 18.

Since we can never tell how any one candidate will do in local races, there are some gauges. For what it is worth, it looks like the real estate money is breaking Ms. Chaires' way based on this. I don't think Willdan will waste their money on someone who won't keep their cushy contract in place. Phil Carter, where are you?

I noticed this company Willdan donated $1,000 to Ly back in September. Maybe they have seen a private poll or something and felt the need to donate to Chaires now?

It would be interesting to see if Mr. Ly stops Ms. Chaires run here as he previously stopped Jake Rambo's political climb and which could derail Ms. Chaires's political plans of becoming governor in 20 years.

Let's see if Pablo's calculated effort in jumping ship to support and lead a Harvard educated Latina to see if it will take him political greatness.

Oooooohhhh...the excitement is killing me!

Noticed this company, Willdan, donated $1,000 to Ly back in September. Wonder if they have seen any polling that made them donate to Chaires now?
