Two female victims, one of them 83, were robbed at gunpoint Friday night in what appears to have been a staged vehicle accident.

According to Elk Grove Police, the two female victims ages 55 and 83 were driving eastbound on Calvine Road near Winterberry Drive when their vehicle was struck from behind by a black SUV. After both vehicles pulled over, the 55-year old victim who was driving the vehicle, exited to exchange information.

An unknown male suspect approached the driver and pulled a handgun out then the victim ran away. The male suspect and another unknown female suspect approached the older female victim who was still in the vehicle with a pointed handgun.

After a brief struggle with the older victim, the two suspects stole her purse and fled in a black Toyota Highlander. The suspects were described as an Asian male adult, 20's, wearing dark clothing and armed with a handgun and the female suspect as an Asian adult, 20's, wearing dark clothing.
