An update in California's hotly contested Seventh Congressional District race posted this afternoon by the Sacramento County Voter's Registrar show Republican Doug Ose's 2,000 vote lead slipping.

The report, which was posted at 3:12 p.m., shows Ose leading Democratic incumbent Dr. Ami Bera by 530 votes. The last report on Thursday showed Ose leading Bera by over 2,000 votes.

As of Thursday, there were reportedly 80,000 mail-in and provisional votes to be counted. Today's report did not say how many votes have been counted since the last update.

Currently, Ose has 76,133 votes or 50.17-percent to Bera's 75,603 or 49.83-percent.
