December 23, 2014 |

Chances are the four suspects arrested last night in Elk Grove after an allegedly armed robbery of an iPhone will be spending part of the Christmas Holiday at the Sacramento County Jail.

According to Elk Grove Police, a 27-year old female placed an ad on Craigslist to sell an iPhone 6 and was contacted by 21-year old Jimmy Chavez of Sacramento who arranged a meeting at a parking lot on the 4900 block of Elk Grove Boulevard. After meeting and agreeing to purchase the devise, Chavez allegedly pulled a handgun on the victim and her 33-year old male companion, and demanded the phone.

Chavez then grabbed the phone off the victims car seat after the companion tossed it there, and he demanded the other iPhone. After the victims complied with his demands, Chavez  was seen getting into a white four-door vehicle that fled the scene.

Responding officers located a vehicle, driven by 23-year old Stephanie Michelle Fredricks of Sacramento, that matched the description of the suspect vehicle travelling eastbound on Elk Grove Boulevard approaching East Stockton Boulevard. Officers conducted an enforcement stop and the occupants were detained.

Chavez was a passenger in the backseat (passenger side) and a loaded handgun was recovered in the area where he was seated. Both of the stolen iPhones were also located inside the vehicle.

The victims positively identified Chavez as the person who committed the robbery. In addition to Chavez and Fredricks, 22-year old Joshua Turner and 19-year old Jamaryion Simmons, both of Sacramento, were also arrested.

All four are in custody with Turner ineligible for bail for outstanding warrants in Solano County. Fredricks also has outstanding warrants from Los Angeles County.
