The Circle K store on Grant Line Road in Elk Grove's rural Sheldon community was robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday morning.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, an unknown suspect entered the store on Grant Line and Wilton roads just after 2 a.m. brandishing a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. After the employee complied with the demands, the armed robber fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash in an unknown direction.

The suspect was described as a white male adult, in his 20`s , 6'1", thin build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a black cloth covering his face and gray sweatpants. The employee was not hurt during the robbery
