Sacramento Transportation Authority to Make Presentation to Elk Grove City Council

January 9, 2015 |

At next Wednesday's Elk Grove Grove City Council meeting, a presentation will be made by the Sacramento Transportation Authority.

Elk Grove's newest interchange, the Sheldon Road-Hwy 99
overpass was funded in part with Measure A funds
The SCA, which administers the countywide Measure A half-cent sales tax for transportation, will discuss its collaboration with county jurisdictions and agencies to identify future transportation project and maintenance needs, and how they might be locally funded beyond what the measure currently provides.

About a year ago the SCA had contemplated a ballot initiative for an additional one-half cent sales tax, but withdrew the idea. The Authority is again gauging whether there is voter support to put the sales tax increase on the 2016 ballot.

Part of Wednesday's presentation will also focus on the gap between countywide needs and available funding. Wednesday's meeting is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
