As part of their on-going public outreach, the Elk Grove Police will host two "Coffee With a Cop" meetings next week.

Officers from the Elk Grove Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit will be available to answer questions from members of the community on Wednesday, February 11, from 7 to 9 a.m. at two It's A Grind locations in Elk Grove.

Members of the community will be able to ask specific or general questions related to the neighborhoods they live in. The “Coffee with a Cop” program is a unique way to strengthen the partnership between the police department and the community it serves.

“It’s very important that our police officers develop strong relationships within the community,” Elk Grove Police Chief Robert Lehner said. “We believe that this type of open dialogue plays a critical role in establishing a true partnership between the community and the police department.”

For additional information, please contact Crime Prevention Officer Andrew Bornhoeft at (916) 478-8117 or Sergeant Audrey Haug of the Problem Oriented Policing at (916) 478-8073. Additional dates and locations will be posted on the Elk Grove Police Department’s web site (www.elkgrovepd.org) as they become available.

The It's A Grind coffee shops are located at 9385 Elk Grove Blvd. #100 and 9620 Bruceville Rd. #100.
