UPDATED - Suspect Arrested in Elk Grove Stabbing Homicide

Elk Grove Police have detained a suspect following the stabbing murder of an Elk Grove woman earlier this afternoon..

According to police reports, the husband of the 77-year old victim has been detained by police. Another person who was detained with the suspect has been released. 

Crime scene investigator and detectives are on the scene on the 4600 block of Laguna West Way. No motive for the murder has been established at this time.

UPDATE

The suspect has been identified as 84-year old Anh Thai. The victim's name will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner's office pending identification.

According to police reports, officers responded to the residence after receiving a call that a stabbing had taken place. Upon their arrival, officer found a 77-year old female victim had sustained multiple stab wounds.

Emergency medical personnel arrived and determined the victim was deceased. Through investigative efforts, it was determined one of two men at the residence was the suspect.
