At a joint news conference held this afternoon at the Elk Grove Post Office, officials from the US Postal Inspection Service and Elk Grove Police announced the arrests of three suspects in connection with a rash of recent postal thefts in Elk Grove.
The three suspects arrested included 22-year old Leonard Velasco, 20-year old Joseph Ryan, and 20-year old Keri Southwood, all of Elk Grove. The three are scheduled for a 2 p.m. arraignment today at the Federal Court in Sacramento.
The three suspects were first arrested by Elk Grove Police on January 29, following a shoplifting incident at an Elk Grove retailer (read story of that arrest here.). At the time, the suspects were found to be in possession of stolen credit cards and narcotics.
