An Aerial View - The Elk Grove Promenade, Outlet Collection at Elk Grove

Much has been written and said about the place everyone loves to hate -  the half-built shopping center in Elk Grove, the place formerly known as the Elk Grove Promenade and now the so-called Outlet Collections at Elk Grove.

Construction on the shopping center abruptly came to a stop seven years ago this July. Even though Howard Hughes Co. has changed the mall's focus, barring some surprise announcement by Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis at next Friday's State of the City Address, there seems to be no progress in resurrecting construction, much less getting some tenants at the site. 

Nonetheless, the Outlet Collection has proven to be useful for at least one thing - a proving ground of sorts for drone pilots.
