Two suspects were arrested early Sunday morning after they burglarized an Elk Grove residence.

According to Elk Grove Police, 18-year old Malik Thomas of Elk Grove and 19-year old Raul Rodriguez of Wilton entered an unlocked residence on the 8900 block of El Mirador Drive. When the resident returned, the suspects were still inside and then fled on foot.

After contacting the police, officers were dispatched to area and apprehended Thomas and Rodriguez a short distance away. The suspects were in possession of property taken from the residence and Thomas was found in possession of a loaded handgun.

Both suspects were arrested and booked into the county jail. Thomas has been released on bail while Rodriguez remains in custody on a $50,000 bail.
