A Lodi probationer was tasered late Friday night when he allegedly became uncooperative and damaged a patrol car after being detained by Elk Grove Police.

According to police reports, 35-year old Thomas Hedrick was operating a vehicle on the 10400 block of Grant Line Road that was stopped for a vehicle code violation. A records search found Hedrick to be on probation.

A probation search of the vehicle led to the discovery of controlled substances, narcotics paraphernalia and indicia of sales inside a backpack. After the suspect was arrested and placed in the rear of the patrol car, he reportedly began kicking the back window of the vehicle causing the window and frame to separate from the door.

The officers confronted Hedrick who continued to kick in the direction of the door and would not comply with instructions. A taser was deployed and Hedrick was removed from the vehicle, when he then complied with instructions.

The suspect is being held at the county jail on an $85,000 bail facing three felony and two misdemeanor charges.
