Next Monday, the Elk Grove City Council and Planning Commission will hold a joint meeting at the Elk Grove City Hall.

The meeting, which starts at 6 p.m., will cover updates to the city's general plan. According to documents posted on the city's website regarding the meeting, this will represent the first update to the general plan since 2003.

The complete report for the general plan can be viewed here. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. and will not be broadcast over the internet. The city clerk's office is making arrangements to have the audio available on Tuesday.

When I read this my first thought was that maybe someone finally got it. But that didn't last long.... they haven't even had the meeting and have split the city into 2 sections....West Elk Grove, whose Residents here are generally satisfied and Eastern Elk Grove, where legacy issues inherited from the County continue. Now that's great General Planning for the City, splitting EG into two sections. Until we work together as a whole it will be business as usual. See.........

"this will represent the first update to the general plan since 2003." That is so laughable. If you looked at how it has been revised over the years doubt you would even recognize it. I see there are no Developers included in this meeting, how can that be??? You know they're not going to be happy with not being able to come s--- in our backyard and leave. Remember that next big fundraiser you have, the monies may be short in supply if you don't scratch their backs.

Oh yea, BTW...when is the meeting scheduled for community input?

Don't forget the Disclosure at the bottom, "may occasionally Revise at Developers Request.

The original General Plan looks like it was written by the developers--expect more of the same this time around. This time it will probably give them the land use assurances they need in the SOI area before they put their money down on property. What better way to rig the game than to start with the General Plan. Like dominoes all in a row!
