As part of the September opening of Sacramento Regional Transit's Blue Line extension to Cosumnes River College, the City of Elk Grove will consider modifying its commuter routes to Downtown Sacramento.

The new Blue Line light rail station at
Cosumnes River College
is scheduled to open this September.
The city has announced it will discuss the possible route modifications at its May 27, regular city council meeting.

To help build ridership on the Blue Line, the city said it is considering eliminating or cutting back on its popular express commuter routes to Downtown Sacramento. Under the proposal, many of those routes would be redirected to feed the new Blue Line station at Cosumnes River College and the existing Meadowview station.

Subsequent to the initial announcement at the February 25 meeting, the city held two outreach meetings on the proposed changes. At both outreach meetings, E-Tran riders expressed a wide array of reasons why they oppose changing the routes to feed commuters to Light Rail.

The May 27 meeting will be held at city hall and will start at 6 p.m.

Oh really? Since when does the city care about supporting RT? Or is this a sneaky way of justifying budget cuts to the boondoggle E-tran, to free up some cash for the new boondoggles: aquatic center, senior center, soccer complex, or train station?

The devil will be in the details and those may be sparse as that seems to be our cities M.O.

"The devil is in the details" has been a cliche used many times by a couple of our councilmen.
We have yet to hear any details regarding how the destination projects will be paid for, or how any of the infrastructure needing repairs will be paid for.
Our public works director at least twice brought to the attention of our council no monies in the pot for road repair....well for our city leaders here again "the devil is in the details"...
I spoke with a senior about the new senior center. They have some money and the city is to fund the remainder. I asked where the money will come from. He said probably bonds. REALLY!

Our city leaders have been on spending sprees to nothing with our taxdollars...spending sprees to nothing....it is a sin...but then "the devil is in the details"

Lack of transparency, lack of accountability, widespread corruptions, our city LEADERS spent our tax dollars pursued unrealistic dreams and legacies. Our needs are being neglected. Who are they serving? Do we have the Lethal Economic Professor to thank for all the troubles that this city is in?
