This morning at 10:55 a.m., the Cosumnes Community Services District Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 6700 block of Vilamoura Way. Upon arrival, firefighters extinguished the fire which was contained to the garage area and was caused by an overheated illegal electrical power connection.  Firefighters also discovered materials consistent with a marijuana growing operation and immediately contacted the Elk Grove Police Department for assistance.

Christopher Michael Fernandez

Officers arrived and contacted the resident, 26-year-old Christopher Fernandez, who was at home when the fire broke out. Fernandez was detained by officers and detectives from the Elk Grove Police Department's Street Crimes Unit were called out.

Detectives were able to secure a search warrant for the location later that afternoon and recovered approximately 140 marijuana plants, approximately 10 pounds of processed marijuana and indicia of sales.  In addition, detectives seized over $4,000.00 in cash along with two loaded handguns and a loaded assault rifle.

"It's Grow Time"...

Smiling man should be used in ads promoting Elk Grove.

"It's High Time to visit Elk Grove.

Our city's motto is "It's Grow Time".

How about bringing light industrial and office jobs to Elk Grove instead of more houses, low income housing projects and strip centers?

Might not have as many of these knuckleheads growing weed if there were jobs with a true living wage.

Until then, it will be the Elk Grove same old, same old.

Miles and miles of houses thrown up during the start of a historically severe drought.

Thousands of low income housing projects to serve residents who have low pay retail and food service jobs.

Garish billboard signs to further glamorize this steaming dumpster fire of a city.

Elk Grove Thriving!

With THE COACHING RIVER, Davis and EGPD have their handful. We question how they allocate precious law enforcement resources. Law abiding citizens are being monitored at all time. In Elk Grove, "It's Grow time" for all: Mayor Davis, EGPD and the rest who are taking advantages of our city because of the corrupted Government.

What a pity. Let's hope he complies and pays for all the damages caused. There is no right for a family to be left homeless, whatever they have inside. That is why in my businesses and at home I always have portable fire extinguishers (extintores). Let's hope there was no human damage.
