In its search for a new Assistant City Manager, the City of Elk Grove had to look no further than to its southern neighbor Galt.
Elk Grove's new Assistant
City Manager, Jason Behrmann.

Today it was announced that Galt's current City Manager Jason Behrmann has accepted Elk Grove's offer to become Assistant City Manager. Behrmann takes over the position that was vacated last March when then Assistant City Manager Becky Craig resigned to become Chief Executive Officer of the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce.

“We are very excited to have Jason join the City of Elk Grove," Elk Grove City Manager Laura Gill said. "His experience in city leadership, coupled with his proven track record of change and innovation will be a valuable addition to the management and development for the City of Elk Grove.”

Of his notable accomplishments in Galt as both City Manager and Assistant City Manager prior to that was securing voter approval of Measure R in 2008. That measure, which was approved by a 68-percent majority, increased local sales taxes by 1/2-percent and was earmarked for public safety funding.

“The City of Elk Grove has a great reputation as a progressive and innovative organization that mirrors my own values and priorities," Behrmann said. "Elk Grove has ambitious plans for its future and I am excited to work with staff and Council to help make those plans become a reality."

Behrmann earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Brigham Young University. He holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.

No start date for Behrmann was announced.

Unfortunately Anon 14:26, with Revenue Bonds we the citizens will not get a vote. The City Council can issue Revenue Bonds without a vote of the people. I believe that's called Taxation Without Representation.
