December 3, 2015 |

Elk Grove Police arrested two suspects on Tuesday morning on suspicion of stealing packages.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the area of Laguna Boulevard and Laguna Oaks Drive regarding two individuals who were driving a red Dodge truck in a neighborhood possibly stealing packages. The reporting person provided a license plate number of the involved vehicle and description of the suspects.

Officers located the described truck, driven by 24-year old Celina Rasmussen of Elk Grove, and conducted a vehicle stop. Rasmussen and 27-year old Ian Beneditti of Sacramento were contacted and detained.

A records check revealed that Rasmussen was on probation. A probation search of the vehicle led to the discovery of property not belonging to the suspects and the discovery of burglary tools.

Both suspects were arrested then transported to the main jail and have been released on bail.
