Three Suspects Arrested by Elk Grove Police For Grand Theft, Conspiracy

December 9, 2015 |

Three suspects are being held at the Sacramento County Jail after they allegedly conspired to shoplift from an Elk Grove retailer.

According to Elk Grove Police, two male suspects were observed shoplifting merchandise inside the Elk Grove Home Depot store on West Stockton Boulevard. When the suspects left the store with the merchandise, they were confronted by loss prevention.

Upon contact, the suspects, 34-year old Lucas Carmichael of Orangevale and Jonathan Carmichael of Rancho Cordova, dropped the stolen merchandise, valued at over $1,200, and fled on foot. The suspects were seen getting into a vehicle being driven by an accomplice, later identified as 26-year old Leayla Wisniewski of Ione.

Responding officers located the vehicle and conducted a vehicle stop. The three suspects were detained and the loss prevention officer positively identified the Carmichaels.

All three suspects were arrested and booked into the county jail where they are being held on felony grand theft and conspiracy charges.
