December 22, 2015 |

Three not-so-wise women who allegedly tried to shoplift some toys to possibly place under a Christmas tree were arrested Sunday night in Elk Grove.

According to Elk Grove Police, three Sacramento women were observed shoplifting inside the Toys R Us on Bond Road.  The trio selected store merchandise from the display shelves then ran from the store without paying for the merchandise.

The three suspects, 35-year old Davina Pena, 21-year old Angelica Valdez and 24-year old Jessyka Puente-Fuller were seen running towards a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers arrived and located the described vehicle leaving the area and conducted a vehicle stop.

A witness responded to the location and positively identified all three as the suspects who stole the items from Toys R Us. The suspects were placed under citizen’s arrest.

The trio were issued misdemeanor citations and released. The stolen merchandise, which was valued at $570, was recovered and returned to the store.
