Elk Grove Police Officer Involved in Shooting Incident in South Sac

An Elk Grove Police motorcycle officer was involved in a shooting incident this morning in the Vintage Park area of South Sacramento. 

According to various reports, the officer shot and wounded a suspected car thief who attempted to knocked the officer off his motorcycle. The incident happened before 8 a.m. today near the intersection of Garnet Peak Way & Sandstone Sea Way, just east of Elk Grove-Florin Road. 

The officer was not injured and the suspect was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The incident is being investigated by the Sacramento County Sheriff's department.
