Assembly Members Cooley, Cooper to Speak at Elk Grove Dem Club Meeting

April 8, 2016 |

At next Tuesday's monthly meeting of the Elk Grove-South County Democratic Club, two area Democratic members of the California Assembly will be the featured guests.

Speaking to the group will be Elk Grove's Jim Cooper and Ken Cooley of Rancho Cordova. Cooper is in the second year of his first term while Cooley is in his second term.

Prior to serving in the Assembly, both men served as council members in their respective communities.

In the coming months the club will be considering endorsements of Democratic candidates in several elections, including those for Cooley and Cooper. Cooley is facing two challengers in the June primary including Republican Nick Bloise and Libertarian Janice Marlae Bonser while Cooper is being challenged by Republican Tim Gursulowsky.

Tuesday's meeting will be held at the Elk Grove Public Library and starts at 6:30 p.m. For further information, please contact club President Dan Schmitt, at (916) 687-8744 or egscdems@ gmail.com.
