Elk Grove Police arrested a suspect on Sunday night after he allegedly tried to punch an officer.

Officers were dispatched to Hirsch Circle and Swann Way on the city's west side after receiving a call of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, officers contacted 22-year old Christoper Campos (pictured above) who matched the description given.

Campos allegedly displayed objective signs of impairment, and when officers asked for his identity, he gave false information and refused to follow instructions. When the officer attempted to detain Campos, he reportedly attempted to punch the officer and grab the officer’s groin area.

After a brief struggle, Campos was arrested, booked into the county jail where he is being held on $10,000 bail and faces one felony and three misdemeanor charges. His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
