Despite Sustaining Heavy Political Damage, Ly's Elk Grove Mayoral Campaign Continues to Rake in Cash

October 14, 2016 |

Even though Elk Grove mayoral candidate Steve Ly has had a damaging week politically, his fundraising prowess has continued unabated.

According to financial disclosures filed this afternoon with the Elk Grove City Clerk's office, Ly raised $5,000 this week. The donations came from two contributors.

The two contributors were ABR Investments and BTG EZG Investments. Both contributors are listed at 10630 Mather Road, Sacramento 95665, the same address as Bardis Homes.

By far, Ly, who started with a significant financial advantage of incumbency,  has raised more cash than all six of his challengers combined. Additionally, Ly has not only received the endorsement of outgoing Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis, but the Mayor also contributed $12,000 from his campaign funds to his political protege.

Earlier this week Ly's campaign was rocked by the revelation that the first term councilman was fired by a former employer. That former employer, the Sacramento-based charitable group Asian Resources terminated Ly after nine months of employment in 2006 for financial mismanagement and leadership failure.
