A Stockton store employee was assaulted after a disagreement over use of food stamps for payment.

The two suspects entered the store located on the 2700 block of Country Club Boulevard in the Civic Districtshortly after 5 a.m. on January 10  and got involved in an argument after the employee would not accept food stamps for the purchase they were attempting to make. One of the suspects described as a black male adult went behind the counter and asualted the employee while the other suspect, a  black female adult, grabbed a bunch of food items.

After assaulting the employee, both fled on foot southbound from business. The male suspect was described as 35-40 years old, wearing all black clothing, a hoodie and reading glasses and the female suspect was wearing a black hooded sweater and black pajama bottoms.
