Elk Grove Council Member Pat Hume Ramps Up Fundraising in Anticipation of 2018 Reelection Bid, Challenge

February 21, 2017 |

Although he has not been actively seeking campaign contributions for the last several six-month reporting periods, Elk Grove City Council Member Pat Hume's appears to have cranked up his efforts as 2016 came to an end.

According to financial disclosures filed with the Elk Grove City Clerk's office, for the 12 months ending December 31, 2016, Hume raised $20,500. Of that amount, $20,000 was raised on December 28 coming from five contributors including Angelo K. Tsakopoulus, $5000; Christo Bardis, $5,000; John Reynen, $5,000; Village Properties Operating Company, $2,500; and Cheysanthany T. Demos Investments, $2,500.

Although Hume did not have a challenge in 2014 for his third four-year term representing the City's District 2, the electoral events of 2016 have energized the Democratic party in Elk Grove and the Sacramento region. There are several rumbling within Democratic circles that Hume, a Republican, is being targeted for his presumed 2018 reelection bid.

Hume stared 2016 with $37,721 and after expenses of $3,550, ended the year with $54,871.
