Elk Grove Police are investigating two seemingly unrelated random attacks where the victims sustained injuries this weekend.

The first incident happened mid-afternoon on Saturday, April 29. In this incident, the victim was walking on the 9900 block of East Stockton Boulevard when an unknown suspect from a moving vehicle threw an unknown chemical at the victim. 

The victim was struck in the face with the chemical causing swelling and redness, The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and there is no suspect information available.

The second incident happened just after midnight on Sunday, April 30 on 8800 block of Coral Berry Way.on the city's north side The victim was walking when he was shot in the ankle by an unknown person. 

There is no additional information available and the investigation is ongoing.
