Man Dies From Gunshot Wound to Head at House Party

A shooting at large house party that attracted 200 to 300 people in North Highlands left one man dead and another injured early this morning.
According to the Sacramento Sheriff's Department, the shooting victims showed up at an area hospital after leaving the party which was at a residence on the 700 block of Plumber Way. One victim, a 21-year old male was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm, while the other victim, a 22-year old male, was prounonced dead at the hospital from a gunshot wound to the head. 
Sheriff Deputies responded to Plumber Way after receiving calls of gunshots but found no initial evidence of the shooting or the victims. Party goers told the deputies that the sounds were from fireworks.
After learning of the victims at the hospital, Homicide detectives responded to the scene.  They received initial information that there were several fights in the street prior to the gunshots being heard.  
There is no suspect(s) description at this time. The identity of the deceased victim in this case will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office, after notification has been made to his next of kin.
