An Elk Grove man stopped for a traffic violation was arrested after he was allegedly found in possession of a controlled substance and nunchakus.

Just before midnight on Tuesday, July 18, Anthony Contreras, 34, was operating a vehicle near Elk Grove-Florin and Robbins roads when he was stopped by Elk Grove Police for a motor vehicle violation. A records check revealed that he was driving on a suspended driver's license.

A consent search of the vehicle allegedly led to the discovery of a pair of nunchakus and a personal search led to the discovery of a controlled substance. Contreras was arrested, transported to the county jail and the released.
